Under the leadership of Venerable Sangharaj Prajnajyoti Mahasthabir as the Founder and President of the Kendra a Monastery cum/and Meditation Centre was established in the year 1986 at 50T/1, Pandit Dharmadhar Sarani (Pottery Road), Kolkata-700015. The Kendra is headed by Venerable Buddharakkhita Mahasthabir and conducts all Buddhist rituals including morning and evening prayer, group meditation, chanting etc. The centre has rooms for residential monks and sramanera. It organises One-day ANAPANA and Ten-days VIPASSANA Meditation camps regularly wherein monks and laity meditators from different parts of India and abroad are participating.
A subsidiary unit established under "Pandit Dharmadhar Welfare Trust" during the year 2012 to run the administrative affairs of the Trust. It is named after Pandit Dharmadhar Mahasthabir (1900-2000), a reputed oriental scholar who had earned the President's Gold Medal for his contribution to Pali and Buddhist Studies. Apart from its primary objective to look after the administrative functions of the Trust, the society also works for Social, Cultural and Spiritual welfare of the people in general and Buddhist Public in particular. Every year it celebrates Pandit Dharmadhar Birth Anniversary on 27th. July and organise 'Dharmadhar Memorial Lecture' by eminent Scholars and Researchers. The Society runs a weekly Free Medical Camp as a part of its welfare activities and distributes new clothes to the needy people of the locality on the occasion of Robe Offering Ceremony (Kathin Chibar Dana Ceremony) of Vidarshan Shiksha Kendra. The day to day affairs of the newly constructed three/four storied "Dharmadhar Satabarshiki Bhaban" is looked after by the Society.
